Intro to Papermaking

Beginning

This class shows the historical journey of papermaking from its origins to current day production. An explanation of differences and similarities in Oriental and European papers as well as materials and methods used in papermaking will be discussed.*This introduction class will give you the foundation to begin the next class levels.

Papermaking Studio Set-up

Begining

Setting up your papermaking workspace is important to creating quality paper. This class covers supplies and materials you will needed to make paper. Tool placement, cooking methods, chemicals, and proper disposal of waste materials will also be covered.

European Papermaking

Beginning, Intermediate Advanced

These classes will teach you skills necessary to create paper at each level. Theses classes are hands on classes that deal with water and paper pulp. Please dress appropriately. (Pre-requisite classes-Intro to Papermaking and Papermaking Studio Set-up)

Oriental Papermaking

Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced

Intro to Bookbinding

Beginning

This introductory level class details the origin of the book and it's evolution over time. Various Oriental and European binding styles are outlined showing numerous materials and methods used in book construction.*This introduction class will give you the foundation to begin the next class levels.
